GORGOROTH Guitarist Launches FORCES OF SATAN RECORDS

April 8, 2007

Guitarist Infernus (real name: Roger Tiegs) of the Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH has started his own record label, Forces of Satan Records. According to a posting on the band's web site, the goal of the label is "to be an independent media company/record label with a clear-cut Satanic profile only relating to, signing, producing and promoting bands with a certain attitude and commitment. First bands that have been signed are BLACK FLAME (Italy) and OPHIOLATRY (Brazil). A webpage and a MySpace account is under construction."

As previously reported, GORGOROTH will film a video this coming week for an as-yet-undisclosed track from their latest album, "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam".

"Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" was released last year via Sweden's Regain Records. The band was previously signed to Nuclear Blast Records, who released three CDs from the group: "Twilight of the Idols" (2003),"Incipit Satan" (2000) and "Destroyer" (1998).

Infernus was recently released on parole after serving time for aggravated sexual assault in connection with an alleged rape of a 29-year-old woman in Bergen, Norway in 2004.

Infernus and a friend (whose identity has not been revealed by the Norwegian media) were found guilty in 2005 of raping the woman. They were both sentenced to three years in prison. In January 2006, the court of appeals upheld Tiegs' friend's rape conviction, but found no evidence to support the rape charge against the GORGOROTH guitarist.

GORGOROTH frontman Gaahl was released from the Norwegian prison in December after being jailed since the spring of 2006.
